      Rafi Nova’s New Doll Masks

      Rafi Nova’s New Doll Masks

The American Girl Doll company represents the values most important to Americans, like honesty, compassion, and courage, and reflects how those have remained constant over time. With the goal of instilling confidence and self esteem in young girls and teaching them historical lessons, American Girl doll has been a trusted partner of parents and a favorite for play among children for over 30 years.

2020’s American Girl Doll Girl of the Year, Joss Kendrick, is a surfer/ cheerleader who was born with partial hearing loss and wears a hearing aid. If 2020 has taught us anything, it's how important inclusivity is. We are amazed by American Girl’s continuous dedication to championing empowerment for girls, and we are so excited to release our newest Rafi Nova Doll Masks! There is perhaps no better way to help your children be excited about wearing their masks than for them to have a friend (or, a small version of themselves) wearing the same one!

How are you inspiring your children to dream big this holiday season? What accessories do you want to see next from Rafi Nova? Leave us a comment and let us know!

Reset Your Romance This Holiday Season

Reset Your Romance This Holiday Season

2020 seems to have given us an entirely new meaning to the phrase “cabin fever”. Of all the obstacles that this year has brought, trying to make room for romance and enjoy quality time with our partners was not one we expected to face. To top it off, the holiday season is usually bustling with family, travel, and worship, making it difficult to find any alone time with your special someone. With the weather getting colder, days getting shorter, and not to mention the unexpected surge in COVID-19 cases across the U.S., dating this winter is going to require a bit more creativity and a lot more patience. But just because things are different doesn’t mean you have to put your life on pause completely. Here are some of our favorite date ideas to spice up your holiday season in the time of the coronavirus.

      1. Gift Each Other Heartfelt Letters

If your annual romantic holiday event isn’t happening this year, or you and your partner decided to lower your spending budget this year, a more personalized gift is the way to go. Not only is it heartfelt and meaningful, leading to some quality one on one time with your significant other, but it costs nothing, like so many of the best gifts do. Choose a time for you and your partner to write and share your personal thoughts with each other. This could cover anything from what you love about them, to your favorite memories together, or what you are looking forward to as a couple in 2021. Find a time to read them together over dinner, dessert, or a nice bottle of wine. Pausing to express gratitude for one another is not only a stress reliever during the busy holiday season, but also allows you to reconnect and remind each other of your commitment. Who doesn’t need a little bit of that in 2020?

      2. Create a Photo Memory Book or Scrapbook

Spend an afternoon collecting and printing photos from some of your favorite memories together. Whether you’re making a photo album or a scrapbook, spend some time getting crafty and reminiscing. This is a fun and engaging way to slow things down and unleash some creative energy. Make a page for each of your future goals as individuals, as well as as a couple! And be sure to check out pinterest for some amazing inspiration and free materials!

      3. Find a Drive Through Holiday Lights Display

A drive through holiday lights displays is one of the best ways to get in the spirit without risking catching COVID. Bring some eggnog or hot chocolate in a thermos, throw on your favorite sweater and get ready to get festive! (We love this article from Boston.com which features the best ones in the greater Boston area).

      4. Chop Your Own Tree

Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas, a tree in your home can still help add to the holiday spirit and get everyone in the festive mood. Instead of heading to the hardware store this year, make it an event and drive out to a local farm where you can choose and chop your own, all while enjoying a glass of apple cider and practicing social distancing.

      5. Spring for a Date Night Subscription Box

We were absolutely gushing over this article from Brides.com about the best Date Night subscription boxes! Consider springing for a date night subscription box as a gift for both you and your partner. These boxes are full of activities and other fun goodies for you ato enjoy together. You can even buy tailored subscription boxes based on what you and your partner are looking for, whether it be wine, cooking, or a mix of everything!

What are you and your significant other looking forward to this holiday season? The best part of these activities is that if you're single, these are all fun things to do with friends or family! Let us know what your holiday plans are in the comments.

      Why Emojis are Important

      Why Emojis are Important

Never underestimate the impact of a facial expression. If there is one thing we have learned in 2020, it’s how important a smile is! In fact, wearing masks that block our mouths feels a lot like texting without emojis… difficult, indecipherable, and frustrating! Have you ever thought in the past year that someone was glaring at you, when it turns out they were trying to recognize you? Just trying to understand someone through their eye contact leaves lots of room for miscommunications. How much easier would it be if our masks could communicate our moods for us? That is why we are thrilled to announce our new  Rafi Nova x emoji kids masks (available in Pretty Flutter and Playtime)! These fun and quirky masks will help your kids express themselves despite what our communications currently lack. We expect these masks to sell out fast, so make sure you get yours before it's too late!

      All About Giving Tuesday

      All About Giving Tuesday

      By Elena Allison

I think we can all agree that what this year needs is a little bit of compassion. Thankfully, #givingtuesday is here to make it a little bit easier for all of us. Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that was created with the intention of encouraging others to do good. Since its founding in 2012, it has blossomed into a staggering worldwide campaign that has inspired millions to donate time and resources to better their communities. Nestled right in between Black Friday, #SmallBusinessSaturday, and the busy holiday season, Giving Tuesday serves as a reminder that we can both buy the things that we want and also give back to those in need. Whether you’re making a donation, setting aside time for a volunteer event, or performing an act of kindness, Giving Tuesday reminds us of the large impact even a small action can have when amplified by the actions of others.

Rafi Nova was established with the goal of empowering the communities we operate in through implementing ethical operations and always paying fair wages. Throughout 2020, we further developed this commitment by creating a one- for - one policy for all mask sales, and built lasting partnerships with incredible nonprofits. Starting in December, we are partnering with AdoptAClassroom.org. AdoptAClassroom.org is an education fundraising platform that helps teachers, principals, and administrators give every child the tools they deserve to succeed in school. We know that in 2020, the jobs of our teachers have never been more difficult or more necessary. Since the beginning of distance learning, teachers are spending on average $252 more of their own salary for classroom materials, and 45% of teachers report having to spend more to get the materials they need. We are thrilled to be able to support this powerful mission, and we hope to ensure the well being of our children now so we can foster their success in the future.
